What is the shelf life? Can Hero Bread be frozen?

For the best experience, we recommend enjoying your bread within five days of arrival. Whatever bread you are not ready to eat, we recommend freezing upon arrival. Our bread freezes and thaws wonderfully.

What are net carbs?

“Net carbohydrates” are the carbs in food that are fully digestible and absorbed by the body. This is different from “total carbohydrates” as that includes all the different types of carbohydrates found in a food such as dietary fiber, which passes through the digestive system without being completely broken down and absorbed by the body. Net carbs can be calculated by subtracting Dietary Fiber from Total Carbohydrates listed on a product’s nutritional facts panel.

Why are you using modified wheat starch? Why not just use regular wheat starch?

Modified wheat starch (also known as) resistant starch is classified as a dietary fiber. Dietary fibers are not fully broken down and digested which allows us to create bread with 1g net carb per serving. Regular wheat flour contains many net carbs that are broken down into simple sugars and absorbed by the body during digestion.
